H 14:26, 11 marzo, 2011. Un terremoto forte e un tsunami attaccavono il giappone e facevano esplodere 4 edifici della centrale nucleare di Fukushima. Questo fatto fu un colpo forte al cuore del giappone. 3 giorni dopo, il 13 marzo del 2011, ho fatto delle interviste e delle foto in queste zone distrutte. Con una macchina a noleggio ho fatto 4000 km in solo un mese. Un anno dopo ho fatto le foto dello stesso punto tramite GPS. Le macerie delle memorie umane sono state eliminate e la terra ripulita, era disseminata dappertutto. La gente si sforza di trovare un senso per ricostruire una città dopo quello che è successo, ricostruire è la natura dell’uomo. Questa serie di foto è stata stampata in un formato enorme permettendo allo spettatore di distinguere i dettagli della città devastate, con chiarezza. Rendendo visibili queste stampe vorrei farvi sentire il punto centrale della potenza della natura e come l’uomo rinasce dalle proprie ceneri.
Tadatomo Takagi nato a Tokio, Giappone nel 1977. Sono laureato in scienze di salute e sport all’università di Osaka, dopo di che ho studiato fotoreportage e la tecnica di sviluppo di foto in bianco e nero nella camera oscura. Con Kunihiro Suzuki un corifeo sul campo del fotogiornalismo ho ottenuto una prospettiva universale e ho lavorato per 2 anni come apprendista al Japan Photographic Institute (Istituto di Fotografia del Giappone). Dopo il mio diploma dal J.P. Institute ho deciso di lavorare come fotografo independente.
Pm14:26, March 11th, 2011. A violent earthquake and huge tsunami hit Japan, and blasted 4 buildings of Fukushima First Nuclear Power plant. The disaster has deeply struck the heart of Japan. 3 days later March 13th 2011, I was taking interviews and photos in the disaster area. In a rental car, I drove 4000km in a single month. One year later, I took a photograph from the exact same spot confirmed by GPS system. The rubble of human memory had been removed and the cleared lands spread out emptily. One could see how people struggled to find a new base of cohabitation. The will to muster the immense effort of rebuilding their towns after the blow prevailed as a natural human trait. This series has been printed in very large magnitudes in order to enable viewers to clearly discern details of the devastated town. For me it is very important to exhibit those huge prints. In sharing these pictures I seek to share with and impress upon you the awareness of the impact of nature’s unleashed power and how we humans rise from the ashes time and again.

BACKGROUND IN PHOTOGRAPHY: Born in Tokyo, Japan 1977. I graduated in Health and Sports Science at Osaka University. Subsequently I studied photographic journalism and specialized in black & white darkroom print development techniques. Under the guidance of Mr. Kunihiro Suzuki, one of the most renowned masters in this field, I gained a global perspective in photojournalism. For 2 years I have worked as an apprentice at the Japan Photography Institute, Tokyo Japan. After graduating from J.P. Institute I decided to start a career as a freelance photographer.
