Il porchianese Augusto Romanelli si appassionò fin dagli anni 60 anni al restauro degli ombrelli. Lasciò così una sorta di archivio storico, non soltanto locale. Mezzo secolo di storia nell’ombrello: mode e modelli, segni e disegni, dal cotone al nylon, dal legno alla plastica. Artisti e non artisti sono poi intervenuti con tecniche varie su vari ombrelli del medesimo fondo. Augusto Romanelli ci ha lasciato a primavera. Luciano Ghersi, tessitore a mano di Porchiano del Monte ne ha ereditato gli ombrelli e li condivide.

Ever since the late sixties Augusto Romanelli from Porchiano has been be passionate about restoring umbrellas. Not surprisingly, he left a distinct historic archive that is more than regional. Half a century of umbrella history: fashion and models, signs and design, from cotton to nylon, from wood to plastic. Artists and non-artists have intervened with different techniques on various umbrellas of this same stock. Augusto Romanelli left us in spring. Luciano Ghersi, hand weaver from Porchiano del Monte inherited and shares the umbrellas.
